As the popular Northwest Library was seismically strengthened, it was also extensively renovated. Interior finishes and furnishings were replaced.  New lighting minimizes glare while conserving energy. Comfort has been improved with new mechanical systems, and the number of computer work stations was doubled. A children's reading area was enhanced with fanciful animal themes. Behind the scenes, the resources and functional efficiencies for staff offices were vastly improved.

In recognition of the successful joint efforts of the City of Burbank, LCDG, and contractors, the library project was awarded the American Public Works Association Southern California Chapter 'Best Project' of 2013.  Since 1986, LCDG has provided planning, architectural and interior design services on countless projects for the City.
